Change does not happen by accident.
Change does not happen by accident. In the ways of our ancestors, we must make strategic, deliberate, and BOLD moves to dismantle harmful policies that undermine our communities and to advance those that improve our livelihood. Join our efforts and take the pledge.
Pledge:
I commit to uplifting, educating, and advocating for policies, campaigns, and programs that improve health, financial security, and housing for Black Angelenos.
I will embody the Bold Black LA attitude, demonstrating through my work and my actions that our community members deserve not only to exist but to flourish in Los Angeles. I pledge to uphold these pillars, integrate them into my daily life, and do my part to end anti-Black policies and racism in LA.
Let’s get into the BOLD BLACK LA AGENDA
What’s the key to life?
Black LA flourishes when we unite to elevate our quality of life through Bold Black Health, Money, and Housing. These pillars are vital to our dignity, security, and opportunity. Let’s tackle deep-rooted inequities and build a culture where every Black Angeleno not only survives but truly thrives.
Black LA runs on the energy of our entrepreneurs, creatives, public servants, and hardworking folks. We’re pushing for real reparations, tackling poverty and joblessness, and making sure our community gets the financial support it deserves. We’re about advancing policies and programs to secure good jobs, financial stability, and strong backing for Black-owned businesses.
Los Angeles is our home, and thriving starts right here. We’re all about making sure LA stays a place where Black families can put down roots, stop displacement, and see our neighborhoods thrive. Housing is a human right, so we’re working to end homelessness among Black residents, build more affordable places to live, and protect our cultural spots.
Health is our greatest asset and the key to thriving. We’re all about increasing accessibility to nutritious food, holistic care, and safe, green spaces so we can all flourish and care for ourselves and communities.
Black Los Angeles is ALL of us. Our bold moves actively include and support the diverse communities within Black LA, such as immigrants, LGBTQIA individuals, and people with disabilities.
